Softly,

so softly comes the unseen thief

to steal that which does not belong

to take away another’s freedom

through fear and and applying grief

who is this thief that takes so deftly

the essence of the Other?

It is the uncaring side of everyone ,

the You, the Me, the I, the Us and Them

who do not listen to the quiet laws of human integration:

We are all responsible, one for the other,

when one falls so do we all

when one ascends into humanity

and the universe descends revealing

our inner grace

we all ascend,

we all affirm our humanity

we are responsible

one for the other

Deep within us all there is a soft voice calling:

feed your enemies and give them help

bathe their wounds and wish them well

take time to understand

and forgive them all they do

This inner thief that will steal away our knowledge of who we are

is more dangerous than a bomb or gun

for it is thief that build such things so other thieves

may use them

To stop this thief you must listen deep within

to the voices that are calling

they are the children and the broken ones

since time first began

calling out an ancient lullaby to the child in every human being

which echoes from generation to generation

giving symmetry to the seasons

and empowers the desire within us to know the Whole

these voices that call

all sing the sing the same:

We are responsible, one for the other

The time for not caring is fast running out

for through caring you will find that the answers

to global hunger, global warming

food prices soaring, high school killings

species dying, is

in how we use the

global mind

the underlying resource

of all

humankind
