The movement of the earth in space

and the waters and the wind upon its face

all turn together

to the time

when it shall be still

so too

for the orbiting nature of the human race

and all of us within it

there will come a time

when stillness will arise

all will be still

not a pause, or gasp

or trumpeted event

but a quiet dawning

in the understanding

of becoming

human,

man,

woman
