Christopher Hansard:[ leaf]
look at a leaf on a tree
it will soon drop from its branch
then fade to brown and dust
making the soil new and verdant

Christopher Hansard:[ pause and sense]
there is within our senses
a pause
that naturally
occurs
and in that pause
dwells our humanity
all the imperfections and the perfection too
the intimation of life beyond time

Christopher Hansard:[ light]
have you seen the light that shines
day and night
in every time and memory
in the future and the fleeting now?
have you known the light
that is
regardless of the was, has and been?
have you seen
the brilliant one
adorned in light
and clarity?
the one that bears your name
upon the fleeting now
in the fleeting world
of the
ancient
Earth

Christopher Hansard:[ ignorance]
ignorance
is in everything
understanding is there also
knowledge is the skill of applying understanding

Christopher Hansard:[the last song]
It will be in the quiet evening
on the shore of a high alpine lake
that the last song will be sung
as below the land will be sea
and the world will be slow in its turning
the last song…what will it be?
a song of birth
as the last woman will give birth to
the first child of the final Earth

Christopher Hansard:[ the way to health]
the way to health
is not just through
diet, exercise
and moderation
but through
attitude
it is not what you eat
but the attitude you have
when you eat,
it is not what or where you live or do
but how you live and do
the way to health
is a path of attitude
that can lead to the sacred experience
of the inner self
the impulse behind
Being,
Doing
and
Having
and letting go
of the identification
to these three human experiences

Christopher Hansard:[ the pattern]
The pattern
is to be found
if looking
into
a still point
where things converge
and unite
all patterns, whatever they may be patterns of
are convergent energies
all offering langauge
all still points
in a fleeting space in
time

Christopher Hansard:[ the breath]
the breath is the wind
the breath is upon the hills
the breath is within
the rising and falling of your lungs
it is within the heartbeat
the breath is in the voice
that speaks to those
who listen
the breath is within the ancient rocks and sand
within the flute and sunset
nd within the passing of time
the breath dwells within
the rainfall
and the rising mist
with the arching clouds
and the dreams not dreamt into being
the breath is within
the thought
nd the deed
the breath within
is the
seed

Christopher Hansard:[ evening song]
evening song , evening song
evening song
full moon calling
evening song
twilight
harmonics
stir the milk of human wrath and kindness
how the earth detests antibiotics in the fish
grown like cattle
evening song
evening song
harmonic moon
calling out
to the western point
of the island
sitting on the swell
soon the fire will return
to the earth
temples will rise from their sitting and walk

Christopher Hansard:[ a leaf]
a leaf
is blown by a cold wind
a leaf is tossed by a summer breeze
like leaves so people
feel tossed
by time and circumstance
yet even the strongest wind must
cease and lose its murmuring
the leaf in the gale swirling
will always come to rest
