Christopher Hansard:[ If You]
If you want peace in your life
do not play the role of enemy
If you want contentment in your life
be thankful for both the challenges and the sweet things that come to you
If you want money in your life
give up all ideas of ownership
and it will come
knowing that there is only a limited supply in the material world
If you want to be your self
then let the every day mind evaporate
for it is nothing but steam and memory
If you want strife, danger, conflict and mistrust
then cling on tightly
to all the selves within you
that seek
to make you small and less than who you really are

Christopher Hansard:[ the years in which we live]
the years in which we live
are the stanchions
on which
we dream
and by dreaming
make the unseen
part of our human soul

Christopher Hansard:[ democracy]
democracy in order to survive
needs consumerism
and a free economy
based on the natural cycles
of the natural world

Christopher Hansard:[ the way to Peace]
the way to peace
comes by gathering
up all the broken
parts of one’s life
and mixing them together
until melted by the heat of one’s own innner vision
create a new alloy
a fusion of soul, mind, intent
and consciousness
for the mind creates all your suffering,
the soul reacts to your suffering,
intent is a bridge no wider than a hair
which leads you
to
consciousness
and there
you will find that
consciousness
needs nothing
but itself

Christopher Hansard:[ Time is a Wave]
Some people say that time is a straight line,
Others state it is a cycle
but I say its a
wave
a giant swell, that rises and falls
within the mind
the mind field
that is the world
so learn how to ride the wave
and time will not constrain you
time starts and ends
in the wave
the swell
of the
breath
within
your breath
that stiches you
as a seam
to the world
of the
everyday
mind

Christopher Hansard:[ the path of dreaming]
we are on the path of dreaming
that is the way of this world
dreamers all of us
until we awake
and see
the simplicity
in the complicated
and know
that there
just
the awakened state

Christopher Hansard:[ where do you belong?]
Where do you belong?
Family, friends, a distant shore?
where is your identity form from
how is it made,
who are you,
the ‘you’ of now
has faded
gone
fleeting
the ‘you’ of yesterday is more remembered
in tones and hues of named selves
where do you belong?
In a belief or theory
a fact or fiction?
a group or faction?
belonging is not the question
and neither is where
but how
and what
brought you to this place
that your life inhabits
in which of many self-made moments
shall you call your Self?
Look to the wind and the sea
and how they play together
of how starlight, moonlight,sunlight
create identities within you
each for a different Self
that calls you
home

Christopher Hansard:[ movement]
there is movement
in the self and mind
the many selves make many minds
that form the shifting face of humanity
that scrys
to divine
its identity
mankind is not a mirror that reflects itself
but a river that flows back to its source
and like water evaporates
to vapour to return to the cycle of becoming
once more
all things are movement
until they rest
with great stillness in between
and even thus the silence moves
back to the flow of being

Christopher Hansard:[ history]
History is not just the recording of events
for them to be interpreted at a more convenient time
history is not just the words of the victor
or the propaganda
History is largely hidden
in the seasons
and the stars
in the waves of the ocean
the breathing of humanity
of a mountain lion
watching tourists from afar
history is the basket of time
that catches
all the small things
that seem
to the world
of no importance
history is a language
of humanity and the evolution
of all life
within the sphere
of
Earth

Christopher Hansard:[ the crowd]
we are part of the crowd
in the throng
the mass
the populace
until each of us
changes the way we think
until
we
cut
the strings
that
trap us
to
the
thoughts of the lowest common denominator
to the atavistic glamour
of the collective
when each of us can emerge from the membrane of the tribe
