Christopher Hansard:[ ten years]

ten years

we have ten years

forget 2012

we have ten years

so people say

we have all the time in the world

but the world is running out of time and resources

it was like this from the very first day of the earth

from the very first day of the man made world

all that we have and have not

is within us

Christopher Hansard:[ years]

what are the years that make up your life?

how were they formed and why did you live as you did?

Can you ask yourself these questions?

Are your years made up of passing time, regrets and worry?

what are your years made up of?

Can you recall anything about the first year of your life

or the year that you regard as life changing?

what are your years made of?

Christopher Hansard:[ the wave of light and sound]

the wave of light and sound

moves so slowly that we can not see it or know of it

all that is fast and here and now

is but a glimmer of the wave’s vibration

all that we know and think we know

is but a glimmer of the wave’s vibration

it links quantum physics and relativity

yet neither are important to it

it is where we are bound

and come from

Christopher Hansard:[ Winter Reflections]

Winter

hangs

in all the seasons

a promise of change and rebirth

in the rushing of Spring

winter hides in the seeds urging themselves to pop

in the langorous stillness of Summer

the chill of winter  emerges from the earth

in the rustling of Autumn

winter is the voice of Autumn’s winds

and Winter welcomes itself

a return to its nature

without winter where would the other seasons be?

So it is with us..humanity seeks an endless summer

runs from a lingering winter

we are the season’s children

winter teaches us how to become reborn

Christopher Hansard:[ Hysteria]

Hysteria

grows quietly like a flowering vine

as the world is told of a wide number of

possible calamities

and how terrible things

can be

hysteria grows quietly like a flowering weed

attractive blooms

whose scent promote

amnesia and short term beliefs

Christopher Hansard:[ the way we think]

The way we think affects the world

slows or speeds the natural cycle

our thoughts are not just our thoughts

but a stream of similar thoughts

that have hung around since humankind

first thought

thinking creates the pattern that leads to global warming

and thinking can change that

yet thinking about how our thoughts make us who we think we are

and how thoughts sculpt our world

is a challenging idea

for all humanity still thinks

that it can be like

Icarus

Christopher Hansard:[ standing,still]

stand still

and soon

your mind will follow

and your life will fall

into its natural order

Christopher Hansard:[ When gathering]

when gathering

those parts of your life

that you know no longer work

love them all, each and every one

and give thanks for death, birth, rebirth

and change,

for all that is and comes to you

in your life

is your own signature writ large on the universe’s wide void

for all creation, which is consciousness in search of itself,

seeks company and communion with each of us

who dare to give up all that is fading

so that we may become ourselves

a signature of humaness and love

Christopher Hansard:[ Dinner with Marlowe]

So after the main repast was cleared

and silence turned to talk, and wine and smoke

he leaned across the table’s corner

and drawled..’news of my death is greatly exaggerated’

and looking at him, I said…

‘this is the nature of all mortal men and their time of death,

even if reported or unknown, all death is made more that it be so,

for we have the death we need, as  with the birth,

the trick is to know the wisdom in time’s mirth

and by that circumscribe the earth with love and kindness

and then return to the earth planting a seed of wisdom..’

‘my work as player and a playwright is not yet done,’

he sadly intoned,

‘oh yes,’

I said,

‘it is,now, it is time for you to be a myth’

and with that silence turned to

other talk, wine and smoke

and the quiet realisation

that all of us

are a myth

invoked
