Christopher Hansard:[ a longing]

Is there  a longing within you

for a touch of the divine,

or a greater life

a dream

a passion to explode

full of light and understanding?

Is there a longing for a simple contentment

and a place for quiet?

Is there a longing?

For all these things are a search for self, love and meaning

can you nurture such a longing?

for when even it hurts,

gather the hurt as if were a tender kiss

and see it through to its natural end

when it becomes a longing

for the embrace

of  the

eternal friend

who dwells within

and has a longing

for you, your lips

your breath
