humankind

has dwelt before

in different guises

on this planet

no more wise than we are now

or less inclined to folly

we evolved

aeon by aeon

we have come and gone

and hung on

and come and gone

and will do so

in differing forms

you grow

not by knowing

but through

understanding

you grow

not by acheiving

but by

receiving

you grow

not by seeking to be liked by others

but by liking your self

we grow not by effort

but by nature

the sea moves

towards the land

mountains towards the sky

the sky towards the sea

and clouds towards the

‘you and me’

within us all
